Smart Youth 2021

The second edition of the Smart Youth Competition was held on the rainy day of 28^th of October, 2021 at Model Primary School, Biogbolo, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. It was the first of its kind in the state where youths from all over would gather to compete in the different categories.

The second edition of the Smart Youth Competition had 3 categories: Reading, Essay Writing and Drama. There were about 35 participants in total with reading having the highest number of participants. The reading participants were required to read Voice in the Wind by Francis Rivers and Maximizing Your Potential by Myles Munroe answering questions that were set at the judges’ discretion and writing an essay the day before, supervised by the judges. The essay writing participants were required to write a comprehensive essay on “Smart Youth, Building the Nation” before the d-day, which was supervised by the judges and on that day, were required to write a story that ended with  “Smart Youth, Building the Nation”. The drama participants were required to act a 15 minute drama with 5 participants on the theme “Smart Youth, Building the Nation”.

Halfway through the competition, a short play let was given by N.C.C.F Drama Team. We also heard the word by Rev. Ikechukwu Ndukwu.

Flavour for Singles magazine, maiden edition was launched also as we had dignitaries from all over launch the magazine which contained information on Flavour for Singles and different articles to the world.

The air was tense and filled with suspense as the results were called out and the prizes were given to the following people:

The weather was gloomy but in the end the hearts of many were joyful as a result of this competition. All thanks to God and as many that contributed to the program in one way or another.
